and thank you for your interest in my art and design !

I have been making multi-media art since I was a child. I won first place in the first art contest I entered when I was 6 years of age in 1969. The theme was Freedom. I had made an acrylic painting of mountains and a bear. It was displayed in a bank for six months and I received a mini bronze liberty bell, pictured above.

This inspired and encouraged me to continue making my art. I went on to win many contests and then moved on to selling my work.

I have sold hand painted coconuts, t-shirts, miniature paintings on shells, jewelry, and a variety of other forms of art such as ceramics and woodcarvings.

Currently, I am focused on my handmade and hand-painted Press-On / False Nails.

I am a multimedia artist and enjoy working with a variety of different mediums.

My top three favourites to work with are :

1.)  Painting - I will paint on anything and everything.  

2.) Making jewellery - I enjoy working with semi-precious stones, glass beads and metallic charms. 

3.) Photography -  I acquired this love from my grandparents who worked for Kodak for over 50 years. I enjoy taking landscapes. Right now I take a lot of images of  the beautiful Hawaii Islands that I've been fortunate enough to been able to call home for over 40 years.

Currently my main medium is making press-on nails. It brings me great joy. I find it therapeutic.  I get to make things shine with metallics, glitter, paint, rhinestones, crystals, and share it with people. 

I also like making goth, steam punk and Halloween themed nails. I will use chains, studs and gears, etc.

Other items I use to create nails are; stickers, charms, foils, and chunky items. 

I am meticulous about producing a high quality product. I make every set as if I am going to wear it myself, using a variety of regular and gel nail polishes. All my nails get a minimum of three thick layers of gel top coat. 

The total time it takes to create and make each nail set varies depending on the materials used and the design. The hand-painted nails take longer than using stickers and foils, for example.

 All hand-painted nails are done under a magnifying glass with a tiny brush and dotting tools. 

Art is Magic.

It is Freedom.

Art is one of the only things in this world that encourages you to be yourself; and to imagine, create, and produce tangible

expressions of that freedom.

It isn't just about pleasing the eye, art has a multitude of wonderful benefits as well . It can influence your mood. It stimulates your brain. It is a wonderful form of therapy.

Still another benefit to art is distraction from pain. I use art as a tool to help me cope with my chronic pain. Making these nails to wear for myself helps distract from the discomfort. It also helps me to feel beautiful because when I look at my hands they sparkle.

I even wear them around the house just for myself. I don't need an occasion. I wanted to share with others that gorgeous nails are not just for fancy events. They are for anyone who wants to feel some self love, wants to feel the glam, or just needs a little glitter in their life, whatever the reason.

Art is truly magical.
